With beginning of the year, it is time for us to say goodbye to a stallion that was the reason for us to start with our own stallion station, the Hengststation Ahlers.
Serano gold came in 2001 directly as a foal from our long time breeders, family Gering, with whom we have been working for 19 years now.
As we started working him, his successful career began. As Three-year old he was Vice State Champion and placed in the finals of the Federal Championship. Aged four he took an exceptional 30-day trial, was approved and went into breeding.
After that he moved to Holland and was trained by Edward Gal for 1.5 years. Edward Gal qualified him with 8.6 in Steinhagen for the National Championships. With increasing demand for breeding the breeder wanted to see Serano Gold, so we decided to bring him back to our stable.
As Six-year old he was able to re-qualify under Kathrin Meyer zu Strohen for the National Championships. Meanwhile, he has been successful with our professional rider Laura Hassler to Prix St. George.
His offspring are now well on the way to conquer the big dressage arena, so his son Solitaire Gold in Austria has become national champion or even Cashmere v. Serano Gold, who was at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden for England in the final. Also he has already some expensive auction candidates.
The decision to sell Serano Gold was difficult for us, but in Scotland he will have a very nice new home, maybe even a bit better than here. And maybe he will get a lot of new new mares.
