Excalibur - Second reserve winner of the 2022 Westphalian licensing
"A son of Escamillo with a very florid appearance who is clearly gaining in importance in terms of movement," Thomas Münch began his enthusiastic commentary on our second reserve winner Excalibur on behalf of the Westphalian licensing commission. "Equipped with an incredible amount of impulsion, lots of rhythm, carrying power and suppleness. Even when turning, the hind leg is always under the centre of gravity. In canter with a clear frame extension and lots of shoulder freedom. His walk is also outstanding - and without doubt the best walking stallion in the final ring. A stallion who pleased us in all areas of the presentation."
Excalibur came into the possession of our MK Ammerland stud via the Westphalian Stallion Market and is now being carefully prepared for future sport and championships by our head rider Nicole Beinlich.
The sire Escamillo won silver at the 2021 World Championships for Six-Year-Old Dressage Horses in Verden and was decorated with bronze in the seven-year-old classification the following year. He produced 30 licensed sons from his first two crops, including the Hanoverian premium stallion and 700,000 euro stallion market price topper Energy and the other Westphalian reserve winners Escaneno and Espléndido MT. His daughter Eivissa was unbeatable under Jessica Lynn Thomas/SWE at the 2022 National and Westphalian Championships (trot and canter 10). Embolo, third in the Westphalian coat of arms at the Tournament of Champions, set a new price record at the Westphalian Riding Horse Auctions with a hammer price of 590,000 euros.
The dam, Despacita, is a full sister to the licensed Vice Bundeschampion and Hanoverian Champion and winner of medium (M*) level dressage competitions, Despacito.
The dam's sire Don Nobless collected successes in international Grand Prix competitions with Susan Pape/GBR and sired 15 licensed sons. His first offspring have reached Grand Prix level.
The granddam Verb.Pr.St. Selina is a half-sister to the M** and M* successful dressage horses Nymphenburg's Sympathicus (by Sir Donnerhall I) and Lafita Laila (by Lemony's Nicket).
In the further generations, the guaranteed successes Sandro Hit, De Niro and Ehrentusch follow in a direct line.
The line also includes the licensed stallions Serrano H (by Sandro Hit; international Grand Prix), KEC Maximum Joe (by Lasangos; 1.60 metre jumping), Disco-Boy (by Disco Star), Festival Westfalia (by Florestan), Picador (by Pilot), Rendant (by Radetzky) and River Phoenix (by Rivero II) as well as the international Grand Prix horse Flovinos Feiner Kerl (by Flovino).
